About Me

My photo
Chili
"Chili" comes from my Pennsylvania Dutch Dear-old-dad who to this day calls me "Jilly Bean" but when spoken by an old Pa dutch farmer, it comes out "chili bean." Home is 7 rural acres of Pennsylvania fertile farmland - 1 acre "finished" in house, lawn, and organic gardens of all kinds. My other passion is fitness - biking, hiking, kayaking, stand up paddling, pumping iron, trail running, x-country skiing and just being outside. As a former Xterra and Adventure racing competitor, staying active is a priority and I continue to compete occasionally in Pennsylvania mountain bike races, whitewater river races (on the SUP) and other events. My goal in life is simple, frugal, healthy, nutritious, almost-meat-free retired living.
